Since 1992, the LIFE Programme has been at the heart of the EU’s environmental and climate action, supporting over 6,000 projects across Europe and beyond.
The LIFE Awards, hosted by the European Commission since 2006, celebrate and honour the most innovative, impactful and inspiring projects that concluded in the past year. From an initial pool of 100-150 projects, nine finalists are selected across three categories:
- Nature Protection & Biodiversity,
- Circular Economy & Quality of Life
- Climate Action
A distinguished jury of three experts will choose one winner in each category, celebrating projects that have demonstrated outstanding execution and measurable impact.
In addition to these awards, two special honours will be given:
The Citizens’ Prize – voted for online by over 10,000 people, recognising the project with the strongest public support.
The Special Award – a new category honouring the project that best supports the current political priorities. In 2025 it will honour a project that excelled in the circular economy.
Join us for an evening of inspiration as we celebrate the trailblazers shaping a greener, more sustainable future for Europe!
