Nature-based and systemic climate solutions: a joint Horizon Europe showcase

  • Public debates

The Horizon Europe projects DRYAD, ClimaPannonia, TRANSFORM, and PRECILIENCE, all part of the Mission Implementation Platform for Adaptation to Climate Change (MIP4Adapt), join forces to host a collaborative webinar during EU Green Week 2026.

The event will highlight how Nature-based Solutions and systemic approaches can strengthen climate resilience in agriculture across diverse European regions. Through short project presentations, participants will discover innovative strategies, tools and pilot actions designed to support farmers, regional authorities and other stakeholders in adapting agricultural systems to a changing climate scenario.

By bringing together four sister projects working in different biogeographical contexts, the webinar showcases complementary approaches to address climate risks in agriculture, farming and forestry. It also provides a platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration, helping to identify common challenges and opportunities for scaling effective adaptation practices across Europe.

The webinar focuses on a panel discussion on Cross-Regional Synergies for Climate Adaptation, addressing the key priorities outlined in the HORIZON-MISS-2023-CLIMA-01 call. The discussion explores how innovative approaches such as agroecology, Nature-based Solutions and smart farming technologies can work together to strengthen the resilience of agriculture and forestry systems across Europe. Panelists reflect on how restoring and maintaining natural ecosystems can deliver multiple benefits for climate adaptation and mitigation while supporting more sustainable and resilient farming systems. By sharing experiences and challenges from different regions and projects, the panel highlights opportunities to integrate technological and ecological approaches, scale successful practices and raise awareness of the critical role that healthy natural systems play in building climate-resilient landscapes.

The event is open to policy makers, researchers, agricultural stakeholders, regional authorities, practitioners and anyone interested in climate adaptation and sustainable agriculture. By bringing together expertise and experiences from across Europe, the webinar aims to strengthen cooperation and contribute to building a more climate-resilient agriculture.
