Description
The Sustainable Cork Programme (SCP) is designed to set a vision for a more sustainable and resilient Cork, empowered by a thriving business community. Cork Chamber has been designated an SDG Champion (2024-2025) by the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications, recognising our commitment to embedding the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across our organisation.
This event directly advances SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production by providing businesses with practical strategies to optimise resource use, reduce waste, embrace circular business models, and enhance sustainability while ensuring long-term competitiveness.
Event overview:
Our Sustainable Cork Programme in-person event of 2025 will highlight how Irish businesses can drive competitiveness through sustainable design for circularity, repurposing waste as resources, and extending the life cycle of products. This aligns with the EU Clean Deal and national policies such as the Government’s Circular Economy Strategy and EPA’s Ireland's Circular Economy Programme.
Why you should attend:
- Learn from industry leaders across sectors on how they are transitioning to circular economy business models.
- Gain actionable insights on embedding circularity in your business, aligning with policy, and unlocking opportunities for innovation and competitiveness.
- Connect with like-minded professionals at the heart of sustainability in Cork’s business community.
Supporting organisations:
The Sustainable Cork Programme (SCP) is in association with Cork Chamber Skillnet and ESB Generation & Trading. This particular SCP in-person event is supported by Cork City Council (Local Authority) and the national Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications (Government of Ireland) as part of our commitment as SDG Champions 2024-2025. The event is also sponsored by Enterprise Europe Network.
This event seeks to attract a mix of private, non-for-profit, local, and national government stakeholders.
