Description
The Wodzisław eco-rally is a unique outdoor event combining physical activity with environmental education, designed especially for student teams. Participants will follow a designated route through Wodzisław Śląski, encountering educational checkpoints focused on ecology, circular economy principles, biodiversity, and sustainable living.
Along the way, students will take part in interactive tasks that promote awareness of recycling, responsible consumption, and improving air quality. They will explore how everyday choices affect the natural environment and discover practical ways to reduce waste, conserve resources, and support biodiversity.
Key features of the rally include:
- Wildlife exhibition organised by the hunting club ‘Pod Klonem’, highlighting the impact of human activities on bird species and their habitats, along with ways to support wildlife protection.
- Beekeeping showcase presented by the Beekeepers' Association in Gorzyce, exploring the essential role of bees in healthy ecosystems and how to support pollinators through individual and community action.
- Honey tasting session, illustrating the link between pollinator protection and sustainable food systems.
The event will conclude with a bonfire gathering, offering a space for reflection, integration, and a summary of the day’s key learnings.
The Wodzisław eco-rally is more than a sports competition. It is an engaging, hands-on experience showing how active lifestyles can align with environmental care, sustainable development, and efforts to restore clean air in the region.
This event is organised as part of the LIFE project ‘Silesia. Blue Sky Restored’.
