Description
The family picnic will take place in the largest park in Silesia, surrounded by trees, ponds, and works of art. Guests will find four sectors: sports, cultural, educational, and exhibition. In the sports sector, spinning training on stationary bikes, silent fitness, yoga, and games for the youngest participants will be organised.
In the educational sector, approximately 20 exciting mini-lectures will be presented on various topics, including:
- Water usage aspects in the city
- Ponds as a way of revitalising mining areas
- Methods of water and sewage purification
- River revitalisation
- Climate education • Climate psychology
- The impact of air pollution on the developing brains of school-aged children
- The influence of air quality on food quality
- Anti-smog murals
- Air-purifying plants
- The impact of air quality on forest ecosystems
- The importance of bees in the environment
- Air quality and the health of domestic and wild animals
- The impact of air quality on cardiovascular diseases in the Silesian Voivodeship
- Drone demonstrations for air and water monitoring In the educational sector, there will also be an "Experimentarium," a place where guests can experientially explore various aspects of air and water protection.
The cultural sector will feature an exhibition of photographs showcasing the most interesting ecological investments in the Silesian Voivodeship. There will also be a book corner where booksellers will offer popular and scientific literature related to selected aspects of environmental protection. Ecological painting workshops led by high school art students will also be organised.
The exhibition sector will present institutions, social organisations, local government, and businesses that will conduct educational and informational activities at designated booths. For each person participating in the picnic, one tree will be planted in a selected location in the Silesian Voivodeship. The goal is to plant 1000 trees. The event is organised as part of the integrated LIFE project „Silesia. Blue Sky Restored".
