City of Humanity

The "City of Humanity" fair event is being organized for the fifth time in the City of Novi Sad. It is a popular and significant event, which is based on the promotion of the Association for Persons with Disabilities, providing a place for organizations to present themselves to the general public.

In Novi Sad, there are over 200 associations that deal with people with disabilities and that, in cooperation with the economic sector, exhibit their products or sell them within the framework of Work Centers, but also at individual trade chains, thus trying to ensure their sustainability. We are gathering all interested parties with the aim of networking, sustainable development, raising their capacities and awareness of the importance of social and environmental entrepreneurship.

This is an opportunity to meet enthusiasts who, through their work, influence the better position of people with disabilities, mentally underdeveloped people and children with developmental disabilities.  As an EU partners within the "European Green Week 2024", we joined the promotion of water protection, a precious resource for all of us. With the support of our youngest fellow citizens, we promote environmental protection in a creative and fun way.

The event will take place on June 10, 2024. at Despota Stefana Boulevard 5 in Novi Sad starting at 10 a.m. The program will be opened by representatives of the "Cap to Smile" Association and the City of Novi Sad. After the ceremonial opening, presenting the work of the participating organizations as exhibitors, children from elementary schools in Novi Sad will perform various performances on the theme of water all visually enhanced with costumes and a stage made by themselves with recyclable materials.

As a mandatory part of the event, the making of a mosaic made of plastic caps will be performed , which children especially love. After a refreshment and a short break, the panel „Sustainable Ecological Entrepreneurship“ will be held. The members of the association will participate in the organization of all the activities of the event. A total of 30 volunteers and 10 assistants will be engaged.

We expect a large attendance of citizens, young people and children for whom this event provides an opportunity to actively promote and demonstrate the importance of inclusion, empathy and tolerance towards peers from marginalized groups. The water and care for the planet and nature are common themes that firmly connect us.
