Description
Without water, there is no life. Next to its crucial role for the survival of this planet as we know it, water is also an indispensable resource for the economy. Future-proofing our water systems against the threats posed first and foremost by climate change is therefore of utmost importance. Innovative solutions to current and anticipated problems are urgently needed.
Let’s shed a light on where we stand in terms of scientific research and innovative products, on how we can speed up action to achieve our ambitious goals, and what is needed to get everyone on board. Join us for an insightful exchange with researchers from first-class European universities, leading companies, aspiring entrepreneurs, knowledgeable policymakers, and interested Brussels stakeholders. In this half-day conference with keynote speeches, project pitches, and a plenary talk, we will showcase exciting research and industrial innovations.
The conference will start with a lunch-break exhibition and a live demonstration of projects related to topics like circularity of water, desalination, water treatment, and more.
The scope of this event will go well beyond Europe, targeting next to the European community particularly stakeholders from Africa. While directed mainly towards researchers and representatives from industry, it will be well-suited and insightful for a broader audience with a genuine interest in the topic of water resilience as well.
The event is preceded by an event of EU-Africa collaboration in the fields of capacity-building for science and the green transition, where joint EU-AU collaborative projects related to water will be highlighted, too, and which will take place in the morning of the same day.
Both events will share a lunch break, allowing for even more networking opportunities with stakeholders working on a brighter tomorrow. The event will furthermore feature a festive award ceremony for the winners of the EuroTech Future Award 2024, a distinction for excellent early-career researchers, celebrating their contributions to a more sustainable world.
