From commitments to action: turning Europe’s biodiversity goal into scalable solutions through knowledge exchange

  • Conferences and summits

This partner event contributes to EU Green Week 2026 by showcasing how practical, field-tested solutions can accelerate implementation of the EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030, the Nature Restoration Regulation and the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.

Across Europe, EU-funded initiatives such as LIFE, Horizon Europe and Interreg as well as those of the German Government’s (BMZ) WALD Innovation Facility are generating valuable results for biodiversity conservation, ecosystem restoration and sustainable land use. However, these experiences often remain fragmented and underutilised, limiting opportunities for replication and scaling across regions.

The event demonstrates how 'PANORAMA - solutions for a healthy planet' supports the documentation, organisation and exchange of proven solutions, transforming project results into actionable knowledge. With over 1 700 solutions from more than 1 200 contributors worldwide, PANORAMA enables practitioners and policymakers to learn from successful approaches and adapt them to new contexts.

The session combines policy framing with practical case studies from European initiatives, followed by an interactive discussion on how knowledge platforms can support the uptake, replication and scaling of biodiversity solutions. Participants explore how to better connect policy, practice and knowledge systems to strengthen implementation.

The event is open to policymakers, EU-funded project leaders, NGOs, researchers and practitioners and aims to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange across sectors.

Participants are invited to join the PANORAMA network and explore opportunities to document and scale their own solutions, contributing to a stronger European and global biodiversity knowledge ecosystem.

The event aims to:

  • highlight practical solutions that contribute to biodiversity conservation, ecosystem restoration and sustainable development;
  • demonstrate how knowledge sharing can accelerate the implementation of biodiversity policies;
  • showcase examples from EU-funded initiatives and practitioners working on biodiversity solutions on the ground;
  • strengthen collaboration and knowledge exchange between policymakers, practitioners and knowledge platforms; and
  • position PANORAMA as a knowledge infrastructure supporting biodiversity action in Europe and globally.
