As part of EU Green Week 2026, the LIFE INFUSION project will organise an in-person event at the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona (AMB) to launch a Community of Practice (CoP) focused on innovative solutions for the treatment of complex effluents and resource recovery.
LIFE INFUSION demonstrates an innovative approach to treating streams such as landfill leachate and liquid digestates, enabling the recovery of valuable resources including biogas, nutrients and reclaimed water, contributing to circular economy objectives.
Beyond the technical demonstration, the event aims to facilitate knowledge exchange, identify key barriers and promote the replicability of these solutions across different regions and sectors.
The session will bring together key stakeholders, including public authorities, waste and water operators, the agricultural sector, industry, researchers and policymakers, to foster dialogue and co-creation.
The event will be structured around three thematic blocks focusing on:
- implementation of circular wastewater treatment solutions;
- valorisation and use of recovered resources; and
- replication potential and business models.
Each block will combine short framing inputs with multi-stakeholder discussions, integrating active audience participation to capture insights, needs and proposals.
The overall objective is to lay the foundations for an active Community of Practice, supporting the development of recommendations and contributing to the wider uptake of circular solutions in water and waste management.
