Eco fashion and the second life of waste: workshops for preschoolers

  • Training and workshops

How can we talk about environmental protection with the youngest children? The best way is through play, movement and creativity. In Cieszyn, preschoolers will take part in unique ecological workshops showing that caring for nature can be an exciting adventure and the beginning of good habits for life.

During the activities, children will learn the basic principles of environmental care in a way adapted to their age. They will discover why waste sorting is important, how to recognise different types of waste and why some materials can be reused instead of thrown away. In a simple and engaging form, participants will also explore the basics of composting, learning that organic waste can return to nature and become a valuable part of the soil.

A significant part of the workshops will focus on giving objects a second life. Children will see that items often considered waste can become materials for creative activities and inspiration for new ideas. Through this experience, the youngest participants will begin to understand that responsible resource management is an important part of protecting the environment.

The highlight of the event will be an eco fashion show prepared by the children themselves. Participants will present outfits made from recycled materials and objects that usually end up in the bin. The colourful and imaginative creations will show that creativity has no limits and that discarded materials can become extraordinary costume elements.

This unique finale will allow children to feel like real designers while understanding that reducing waste and reusing materials are important parts of a responsible lifestyle. In this way, the youngest participants will discover that investing in nature can start with creativity, knowledge and everyday choices.

The workshops combine education, play and creative expression, showing children that caring for the environment can be joyful, inspiring and full of colour.

The event is organised as part of the project ‘Silesia. Blue Sky Restored’.

Host: Ewa Chrobok, eco-manager of the Cieszyn Municipality.
