'The environment belongs to everyone: environmental awareness days' is a participatory event focused on promoting urban biodiversity, sustainable green space management and active citizen engagement in environmental protection.

The main objective is to foster public awareness and encourage hands-on involvement in the care and improvement of municipal green areas. The event highlights the importance of sustainable practices at the local level and aims to empower citizens to become active contributors to a greener, more resilient urban environment.

The target audience includes local residents, families, students, environmental organisations and community groups, with activities designed to be inclusive and accessible to all ages.

The event will take place across several municipal parks, offering a dynamic and interactive format that combines practical workshops, live demonstrations and educational sessions. 

Key activities include:

• workshops on planting native Mediterranean species adapted to local climate conditions;
• seed bomb-making sessions to support natural regeneration of green spaces;
• demonstrations of sustainable gardening techniques such as mulching, soil improvement and water-efficient irrigation practices; and
• informative talks on ecological management of urban green areas, including reducing pesticide use, promoting native flora, creating habitats for urban wildlife and improving water efficiency.

The event will be supported by municipal environmental technicians and sustainability experts, who will lead the activities and provide practical guidance to participants. By combining education, action and community involvement, this event aims to inspire long-term behavioural change and strengthen the connection between citizens and their local environment, reinforcing the shared responsibility of protecting nature.
