How can we build a new world that supports life? Before humanity takes on such an ambitious challenge, we must first understand how the natural systems of our own planet work. This idea forms the basis of the field game ‘Project new world: investing in nature’, which invites participants to take part in a unique scientific mission.
During the game, students will take on the role of astronauts preparing to join a project aimed at building the first human colony on a distant planet. To become part of this mission, they must complete a special training programme designed by scientists and test their knowledge about the natural environment and the actions that help protect Earth’s resources.
Ten research stations will be located throughout the park. At each station, teams will face short challenges, riddles and tests related to key aspects of environmental systems. The tasks will address topics such as the importance of clean air, responsible energy use, protection of water resources, care for soil and biodiversity and sustainable management of materials and waste.
Participants will record their answers on special mission cards. Each correctly solved task will reveal another clue leading to the final password a symbolic key to understanding how to invest wisely in nature in order to create environments that support life.
The field game combines physical activity, fun and environmental education. Thanks to its narrative format, participants not only gain knowledge but also develop teamwork skills, logical thinking and a deeper awareness that protecting the environment is one of the most important challenges of the modern world.
The event will also include additional educational activities and an award ceremony for the teams that perform best in the astronaut training mission.
The game ‘Project new world: investing in nature’ reminds participants that before we begin dreaming about new planets, we should first take care of the one we already have: Earth.
The event is implemented as part of the project ‘Silesia. Blue Sky Restored’.
