Can a walk in the forest become both an adventure and a nature lesson that inspires care for the environment? During the event 'Jurassic nature in green - educational forest walk', the youngest students will have the opportunity to discover the remarkable natural richness of the Kraków-Częstochowa Jura and learn why protecting and investing in nature is essential for the future of the region.
The walk will involve students from grades I–III of a primary school, who will take part in an outdoor educational experience in the forests of the Jura region. The activity will be guided by a representative of the State Forests responsible for forest management, who will introduce children to the functioning of forest ecosystems, the role of trees and plants in nature, and the animals that inhabit the local forests — showing in practice how active, knowledgeable stewardship of forests is one of the most enduring forms of investment in nature.
During the walk, students will observe nature, learn to recognise selected plant and animal species and discover the relationships between different elements of the natural environment. Through direct contact with nature, children will see how important forests are for protecting the climate, improving air quality and preserving biodiversity — and begin to understand the concrete value that healthy, functioning ecosystems provide to people and communities.
The walk will have the form of active environmental education. Through short tasks, games and observations, participants will learn how everyday human activities influence the condition of the environment. They will also become familiar with the basic principles of responsible use of natural resources and understand why nature protection is an important element of building a more environmentally friendly economy — one in which forests are recognised not as background scenery, but as essential natural capital worth protecting and restoring for future generations.
'Jurassic nature in green - educational forest walk' shows that environmental education is most effective when it takes place directly in nature. Observing the environment, discovering its diversity and learning about the role of forests in our lives help young participants understand that caring for nature begins with knowledge and everyday responsible choices — and that the next generation of citizens, equipped with that understanding, represents one of the most valuable investments a community can make in the long-term health of the natural world.
The event is implemented as part of the project 'Silesia. Blue Sky Restored'.
