Description

The event will showcase innovative and sustainable methodologies, technologies, and solutions for the monitoring, removal and recycling of marine litter, particularly plastics. It will serve as a meeting point for major industrial entities, start-ups and non-governmental organisations.
This is the fifth joint edition held within the framework of European projects addressing this theme and funded under various programmes, including Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe, Interreg and EMFAF. The workshop, organised under the aegis of the European Union’s Mission Ocean and Waters, is led by the SeaClear2.0 and REMEDIES projects, with support from the Interreg ADRION project JOINABLE. It will also host representatives from other relevant initiatives, such as WINBLUE and INSPIRE.
Scientists, entrepreneurs, start-up managers, local public authorities and NGO leaders actively engaged in designing and testing innovative devices and governance systems for marine litter recovery will present their contributions and share their experiences. These technologies are aligned with circular economy principles.
The programme will also include dedicated contributions highlighting the role of women in the blue and circular economy.
