Description

This workshop is part of Green Week 2025 and is organised within the framework of the NEWPOWER project, co-funded by the Interreg Sudoe Programme.
Designed for youth and families, this hands-on activity offers a unique opportunity to understand that what we often consider forest waste can, in fact, be the starting point for valuable and creative products.
The event begins with a guided nature walk, where participants will identify materials such as dry branches, pinecones, wild herbs, and leaves - elements that, when left unmanaged, can increase the risk of wildfires. Local firefighters will actively take part in the walk, helping children and families understand how forest residues contribute to fire risk, and how their proper use or removal can support fire prevention. This direct engagement links circular economy principles to real-life environmental protection.
After the walk, the group will participate in a creative workshop where the collected materials will be reimagined.
