Description
In a world where water issues are reaching critical levels, we at P2GreeN know that now is the time for action. That's why we're thrilled to introduce our upcoming event, “P2GreeN international conference: wave of change for better water solutions” .
Our mission? To bring together a diverse group of stakeholders to explore the vital connections between water management, agriculture, and the circular economy. We're all about flipping the script from old-school linear systems to circular ones, and our work is making waves. Imagine this: urban and rural areas teaming up to turn wastewater and human sanitary waste into a valuable resource for farming. That's the heart of what we do, the P2GreeN's vision to shift from a linear resource system to a circular one, connecting urban and rural areas to improve water-agri-food systems. Using groundbreaking tech like urine diversion and smart fertigation tools, we're closing nutrient loops and paving the way for sustainable practices, as exemplified by successful pilot projects in Sweden, Switzerland, Spain, and Germany.
But it's not just about technology – it's about impact. Nutrient pollution, especially from nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P), is a major threat to water ecosystems, a challenge that P2GreeN aims to address by focusing on reducing N & P pollution through innovative solutions and converting urban wastewater into safe fertilizers. By transforming urban waste into safe fertilizers, we're fighting back against water pollution and safeguarding our precious waterways, rivers, wetlands, groundwater and seas, as well as providing alternative water resources.
Of course, none of this happens in a vacuum. We need policies that support our vision of circular water management and sustainable agriculture, which is why P2GreeN aims to provide policymakers with replicable models for sustainable regional economies across Europe. Our event it's about rolling up our sleeves and getting policymakers on board for real change.
We've got dynamic keynote speeches, lively discussions, virtual tours of our projects, and hands-on workshops. It's all about sparking dialogue, sharing knowledge, and crafting strategies for a brighter future.
Our goal? To ignite transformative change and drive collective action towards water resilience and sustainability, in alignment with our ambition to increase sustainability in the agri-food system and support EU objectives of reducing nutrient losses in water by 50% by 2050.
