This workshop is designed to promote greater awareness of sustainable food practices through mindful eating and a seasonal, locally focused approach to food. The event will provide an educational and community-centred experience, encouraging participants to explore how everyday food choices can support personal wellbeing, reduce environmental impact and strengthen connections with local food systems.

Participants will gain practical knowledge around seasonal eating, sustainable consumption and mindful food behaviours, while also developing a greater understanding of the relationship between food systems, environmental sustainability and community wellbeing.

The concept aligns with this year’s theme, “Investing in a nature-positive economy,” by highlighting the role of sustainable consumption, seasonal produce and local food networks in supporting environmental resilience. Through practical discussion and engagement, the workshop aims to encourage behavioural shifts that contribute to healthier ecosystems, more sustainable communities and long-term climate-conscious living.

The workshop also aligns with several of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including:

SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production
SDG 13 – Climate Action
SDG 15 – Life on Land
