The princess and the eco-frogs: an interactive environmental theatre performance for children

  • Conferences and summits

Can environmental protection become an exciting adventure? In Czeladź, young audiences will discover that it can during the unique ecological theatre performance 'The princess and the eco-frogs,' organised as part of the campaign 'Green lungs of Czeladź' — and as part of EU Green Week 2026's focus on investing in nature.

This humorous and magical story brings together a fairy-tale world and the real environmental challenges of today. The main character is a brave and energetic princess who refuses to wait for help and decides to save her kingdom from chaos and pollution on her own. In her mission, she is accompanied by two unusual companions, the frogs Kum-Kum and Rechot, who help uncover the secrets of ecology in a playful and imaginative way.

The performance is interactive, which means children are not just spectators - they become part of the story. Young participants help the characters make decisions, solve environmental puzzles and sometimes even join the action on stage to help save the fairy-tale kingdom. This engaging format makes the message easy to understand and memorable for the youngest audience.

Throughout the show, children learn basic principles of environmental care. In a lively and entertaining way, the story introduces topics such as clean air and reducing air pollution, waste sorting and recycling, water protection, energy saving and caring for nature — each presented as a meaningful, everyday investment in the natural world. The characters demonstrate that even small daily actions can contribute to protecting the environment and improving quality of life.

Colourful scenery, dynamic storytelling and elements of fairy-tale magic transport children into an imaginative world, while at the same time teaching them that caring for nature is not a duty but a shared adventure in which everyone can play an important role.

'The princess and the eco-frogs' shows young audiences that investing in nature begins with knowledge, imagination and good habits developed from an early age. It is an environmental fairy tale with an important message — that everyone can influence the world around them and that nature is worth protecting, nurturing and fighting for.

The event is organised as part of the project 'Silesia. Blue Sky Restored'.

Host: Henryk Michalski, eco-manager of the Czeladź Municipality.
