This partner event is organised by the EU4Green Recovery East programme and will provide a practical discussion on how nature-based solutions (NbS) can be technically robust, economically viable and institutionally anchored in the EU’s Eastern Partnership region.
Participants will explore how to apply recognised standards such as the IUCN Global Standard, integrate NbS into River Basin Management Plans, strengthen governance frameworks and develop viable financing pathways. The event will also draw on lessons from NbS pilot projects in Armenia, Moldova and beyond.
A moderated discussion will address institutional bottlenecks, conditions for scaling and replicability across the region.
Target audiences include authorities, environmental NGOs, infrastructure planners and practitioners in the EU’s Eastern Partnership region, as well as representatives from DG ENEST, DG ENV and DG CLIMA, international financial institutions, development banks and investors.
The event will feature speakers from the European Commission, Eastern Partnership countries and experts involved in implementing NbS, combining presentations with interactive discussion and practical insights.
