Aligned with EU Green Week 2026 and its theme “Invest in Nature,” and commemorating the International Day of the Sun, this online webinar explores how solar energy communities can contribute to a sustainable and environmentally responsible energy transition across Europe.
Organised within the framework of the SolHub cluster, the event brings together the SOCIAREM, INNO-TREC and PVSMILE projects to showcase innovative approaches to scaling renewable energy communities through citizen engagement, digital tools, and inclusive governance models.
The session highlights how the deployment of solar energy communities can be aligned with environmental considerations, including sustainable land use, reduced environmental impact, and the promotion of nature-conscious energy solutions. By empowering citizens and local stakeholders, these initiatives contribute to more responsible decision-making processes that support both the clean energy transition and broader environmental objectives.
The programme includes project presentations, interactive discussions, and a panel session focusing on how renewable energy communities can be designed and implemented in a way that balances energy generation with environmental sustainability. Particular attention is given to governance models, social acceptance, and the role of digital tools in supporting sustainable and scalable solutions.
The event is aimed at policymakers, local authorities, researchers, industry representatives, and citizens interested in renewable energy, sustainability, and community-driven innovation.
