WaterAid, the European Pact for Water along with a coalition of NGOs in France, Belgium, Spain, the Netherlands and Germany are asking their national candidates for the EU elections to support making water a higher political priority in the next Parliament's mandate, as part of the Stand Up 4 Water campaign.
The coalition developed a manifesto calling European candidates to support:
- Making water resilience a political priority on the EU agenda;
- Supporting investments in the water, sanitation and hygiene sector;
- Highlighting the link between water access and other sustainable development goals.
