During the EU Green Week, the Municipality of Assen organises a panel discussion. In this session the cities of Assen, Lahti, and Copenhagen will present and discuss projects they are undertaking to create a nature-positive environment that contributes to improved health.
Assen has been awarded European Green Leaf Award 2027, in which its approach to implementing nature-based solutions played a significant role. This partner event is to raise awareness and to foster knowledge exchange on this topic. The discussion will provide insights into the challenges of local collaboration in transforming areas into nature-positive environments that support physical and mental well-being.
Cities, knowledge institutions, and other stakeholders interested in the cities’ approaches to improving health through nature-based solutions are warmly invited to attend the event.
The event will take place at the House of the Dutch Provinces in Brussels. The session will begin with a keynote address by Alba Godfrey, Senior Project Coordinator at EuroHealthNet, who will highlight how nature-based solutions can contribute to healthier neighbourhoods and cities. This will be followed by short presentations on urban projects that focus on enhancing health in nature-positive environments. The session will conclude with a panel discussion, followed by an opportunity to network.
