Andreia Franco is a senior officer and expert on water resources in the Portuguese Environment Agency.
She has an extensive teamwork experience with multi-disciplinary teams and subjects such as the implementation of the Water Framework Directive with emphasis on the elaboration of the River Basin Management Plans, on the development and management of several information systems related to the permitting of water resources uses and on environmental regulation related to water (elaboration of proposals for legal documents and guidelines to prevent water pollution from human activity through planning and permitting, including water reuse, water pollution control and wastewater management).
Andreia has conducted trainings on water resources management and uses and she also has international work experience as co-expert member on several TAIEX Expert Missions and Workshops and team member of some IMPEL’s (European Union Network for the Implementation and Enforcement of Environmental Law) Projects.
