Emil Boc is the Mayor of Cluj-Napoca, the second-largest city in Romania, in terms of size and economic development.
He is also the President of COTER Commission, European Committee of the Regions; co-rapporteur on the Future of Cohesion Policy, rapporteur on Brain Drain in the EU and on Achieving the European Education Area by 2025 and European Strategy for Universities; member of A Soul for Europe Advisory Board.
Emil Boc holds a PhD in Political Science. He is an associate professor at Babeş-Bolyai University Cluj-Napoca, awarded Honorary Degree of Doctor of Law from Michigan State University in East Lansing, U.S.
Former Prime Minister of Romania (2008-2012), former President of the Democratic Liberal Party (2005-2012).
