Ignace Schops is a Belgian conservationist. He is the director of the Regionaal Landschap Kempen en Maasland vzw (RLKM), the current chair of the Bond Beter Leefmilieu, and the former president of the EUROPARC Federation, Europe’s largest nature conservation network.

Ignace Schops received the Goldman Environmental Prize and the ASHOKA fellowship in 2008. He is a full member of the European Chapter of the Club of Rome. In 2011, he was awarded an honorary doctorate from Hasselt University. In 2013, he became a member of Al Gore’s Climate Leadership Corps, and later that year, he was appointed “Commander in the Order of the Crown of Belgium” by King Philippe of Belgium. In 2021, Ignace Schops received the ‘Etion Leadership Award’.

Ignace Schops is the author of the successful book 'Saved by the Tree Frog: The Great Future of Humans and Nature'.
