John Boon (Hoorn, The Netherlands, 1969) is a member of the Executive Committee of the International Federation of Landscape Architects in Europe as well as the head of the landscape architecture and urban design studio at Arcadis Netherlands.
He was chief designer of the World Horticultural Expo Floriade 2012 which marked the start of his international career.
In his work John always integrates multiple functions in a clear and strong concept. The history of a place plays an important role in his designs. His goal is to add a ‘new chapter’ to the story of a place instead of writing a new book. His focus is on making cities healthier and more resilient.
John studied landscape architecture at the University of Applied Science Larenstein and at the Amsterdam University of the Arts.
