Sabien Leemans joined WWF European Policy Office (WWF EPO) as senior biodiversity policy officer in 2016, aiming to help shaping EU policies that impact on the European and global environment.
She keeps the European WWF network informed on EU policy and political developments impacting on nature conservation and enables the network to influence regulatory and policy decisions in Brussels and the Member States that will help to support conservation.
Sabien is also chairing the European Habitats Forum, bringing together the leading European nature conservation organisations.
Sabien has been in the WWF network for a long time, as she was coordinating the policy work at WWF Belgium before joining WWF EPO. Before that she lived in Indonesia, where she was working with local NGOs on agroforestry projects.
