Simone Mazzola is Chief Growth Officer at 3Bee, a NatureTech company developing biodiversity monitoring and certification systems. With a PhD in Energy Engineering from Politecnico di Milano and MIT Boston, he combines scientific rigor with business strategy for nature-based solutions.
He co-developed Italy's UNI/PdR biodiversity credit framework, leading the technical work with the University of Turin, University of Naples Federico II, CREA, Piedmont Region, and Climate Standard, defining a methodology based on the Mean Species Abundance (MSA) indicator. He also helped launch 3Bee's Biodiversity Credit project, financed by the European Innovation Council.
At 3Bee, he has overseen 7 European and 15 national research initiatives, including HORIZON-EIC "Biodiversity Credits" and the CONSCIENCE project with NBFC, focused on integrated credit trading platforms.
Simone contributes to ISO technical committees, PIARC, and Solar Power Europe, co-authoring white papers on biodiversity in renewable energy. As Vice President of the Regenerative Society Foundation's technical working groups, he works with corporations, academics, NGOs, and institutions on regenerative economics.
His expertise spans biodiversity monitoring aligned with ESG and CSRD standards, the IPBES Framework, and EU cross-border coordination. He is committed to building transparent, credible biodiversity credit systems that bridge ecological data with corporate investment to accelerate Europe's restoration goals.
