Werapong Prapha is Thailand Trade Representative. He plays a key leadership role in strengthening Thailand’s strategic trade and investment relations—particularly with the EU, UK, and OECD—with a strong focus on sustainability, green innovation, and responsible business. His portfolio includes overseeing the strategic direction of the Thailand-EU Free Trade Agreement, promoting inclusive investment aligned with the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economy Strategy, and fostering international partnerships for climate-resilient, green supply chains.
He previously held executive roles in international organisations, focusing on sustainability and trade policy in global supply chains. At Oxfam America, he led cross-sector negotiations with major U.S. multinationals to embed sustainability into core strategies. At The Freedom Fund, he oversaw over 40 projects on sustainability, human rights, and environmental protection across Europe, the Americas, and Southeast Asia. He has authored multiple policy papers and was featured in The Infinite Game (2024), a documentary series by Moody’s.
Werapong graduated with First Class Honours in Accounting, International Business, and Commercial Law from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. He holds a master’s in international development from the London School of Economics and an Executive MBA from the University of Cambridge.
