‘Change Trackers’: a field game launching the Silesian Green Week

  • Conferences and summits

What is the best way to begin a week dedicated to investing in nature? In Łaziska Górne, the answer is simple: by discovering nature together and taking action. The outdoor game ‘Change Trackers’ officially launches the Silesian Green Week, inviting residents to join a unique educational adventure.

The event takes place at the ‘Żabka’ Recreation and Sports Centre, which transforms into a space filled with environmental challenges and nature-inspired puzzles. Participants – children, young people and adults – take on the role of young explorers investigating changes occurring in the natural environment.

Teams follow a specially prepared route where they complete tasks related to key elements of nature and climate: water, energy, plants, animals and weather phenomena. Each station of the game helps participants understand how climate change affects our surroundings and what actions can help protect nature.

The activities are interactive and adapted to different age groups. Participants solve puzzles, conduct simple nature observations and make decisions related to environmental protection. Through these challenges they discover that investing in nature is not only about large infrastructure projects but also about knowledge, responsible choices and everyday actions by local communities.

The game has a family and intergenerational character, encouraging teamwork and shared discovery. Solving challenges together builds environmental awareness and demonstrates that caring for nature can be an engaging and inspiring experience.

Launching the Silesian Green Week with such an event carries symbolic meaning. It shows that investing in nature begins with understanding natural processes, recognising the effects of climate change and engaging local communities in environmental action.

The outdoor game ‘Change Trackers’ therefore becomes not only an engaging activity but also the first step in a week full of events demonstrating how communities can work together to build a greener and more climate-resilient future.

The event is organised as part of the project 'Silesia. Blue Sky Restored'.
