PFAS pollution is a reality that local and regional authorities are increasingly facing in Europe and the challenges are numerous, not only for them but also for the companies in their territory which produce or use PFAS, sometimes without even knowing it. This event will explore how cities and regions can work hand in hand with their local stakeholders to ensure a sustainable transition away from PFAS as well as strong and innovative local economies.

Description
The conference will showcase concrete initiatives from local and regional authorities that are taking action, together with their local ecosystem, to address PFAS pollution and find long-term pathways to transition away from PFAS. Whether by providing support for innovative projects or capacity-building actions with companies, several cities and regions are leading the way and implementing policy initiatives promoting nature-positive actions.
Interventions from the Commission to highlight how Europe is supporting the sustainable transition of its industry, notably via support for research and innovation projects to develop alternatives to PFAS, are also foreseen.
Interested? Then join us on the morning of 2 June to hear more. The event will be followed by a networking lunch.
Please note that the conference will not be web streamed.
