Hosted by Murat Kantarcı Science and Art Center, Green homeland: Empowering children as social innovators is a multi-stage event series designed to transform young learners into active contributors to nature’s restoration. The programme demonstrates how investing in children’s STEM+A skills and creative thinking serves as the ultimate capital for a sustainable future.
The series features three milestone activities:
- Family STEM workshop (1 June): parents and children collaborate on biodiversity-focused innovation.
- Green homeland children’s festival (5 June): a public showcase of student-led ecosystem restoration projects and nature-positive solutions.
- Youth debate on desertification (17 June): a public dialogue on nature-based solutions to combat drought and climate challenges.
In partnership with future educators from Erciyes University, the event bridges local environmental heritage with global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By fostering environmental stewardship and social innovation, it empowers the next generation to protect and restore natural capital.
