Description
LIFE PRISTINE focuses on removing at least 80% of emerging contaminants with a 30% operational improvement in drinking and wastewater. The project proposes a solution that integrates different technologies, including adsorption processes, membrane filtration, advanced oxidation processes, and artificial intelligence tools. Likewise, the project evaluates other cross-cutting factors, such as its socioeconomic impact. To do so, an exhaustive characterisation of the main aspects of the area of study and the relevant stakeholders is being conducted. LIFE PRISTINE seeks to identify the main concerns and needs of the local, regional, and international stakeholders. A very detailed and complete overview of existing opinions, perceptions, expectations, and questions will be made.
LIFE PRISTINE Open Days will consist of two main events, scheduled for the 4th and 5th of June in Murcia. The first event will be an academic and scientific gathering, held at a Technological Centre in Murcia city.
The target audience includes technology providers, universities, research centres, wastewater and drinking water managers, plant owners, and public administrations, both regional and international. The event will be hybrid, and it will be conducted in English.
The Open Day will be divided into four parts:
- LIFE PRISTINE Project overview & challenges and opportunities in wastewater reclamation
- Presentation of related projects
- Innovation chat – Breakthrough technologies for wastewater reuse
- Visit to the LIFE PRISTINE pilot plant
The second event is focused on gathering the perceptions, opinions, and concerns of the local stakeholders of Ceutí, the village where the LIFE PRISTINE solution is being demonstrated. Nearly 25 participants, including stakeholders from various local entities and associations, will visit the Ceutí WWTP and the LIFE PRISTINE pilot plant.
The city council will also be involved. The event will be held in person and conducted in Spanish. In this case, the gathering will start with an institutional opening, followed by a “highway to knowledge” session: From wastewater treatment to LIFE PRISTINE.
All the participants will visit the different stages of the wastewater treatment, and plain explanations will be provided. The idea behind the project will also be explained, along with a micropollutant awareness campaign and the benefits of water reuse in the municipality. Participants will be asked to complete a questionnaire to gather their perception.
