Description
Do you have books, toys or plants at home that you no longer need? 'Reuse hub: things in good hands' invites residents to give those items a new lease of life, helping reduce waste while supporting the principles of the circular economy and zero waste.
Taking place at the Będzin City Market, the event will feature dedicated exchange zones where visitors can donate, exchange or discover new items. It’s a simple way to participate in reuse, reduce overconsumption and connect with the local community.
Exchange zones:
- Book exchange zone: a haven for readers of all ages. Participants can bring books they’ve already enjoyed and swap them for something new—children’s books, fiction, non-fiction, guides or illustrated albums. A great way to refresh your bookshelf without buying new.
- Plant and seedling exchange zone: have a plant that’s outgrown your space? Bring it along and exchange it for a new one: houseplants, herbs, flower seedlings or seeds. The zone will also offer gardening tips and advice on plant care.
- Toy exchange zone: many toys outlive their use in one home but are still in excellent condition. This space allows children and parents to exchange toys, board games, puzzles and educational materials, supporting sustainable, joyful play.
Why take part?
- Reduce waste and overproduction: extending the life of items keeps them in use and out of the bin, reducing environmental impact.
- Give books a second life: let stories continue their journey in new hands.
- Reuse toys responsibly: encourage sustainable habits while keeping play fun and engaging.
- Add more greenery to the city: share plants and seedlings to brighten homes and improve local air quality.
'Reuse hub: things in good hands' is more than an environmental initiative. It’s a chance to meet neighbours, support a culture of reuse and take meaningful steps toward a cleaner, more thoughtful way of living.
This event is organised as part of the LIFE project ‘Silesia. Blue Sky Restored’.
