Description
Can waste become a work of art? ‘TrashArt – Creativity without limits!’ is a unique school competition that proves recycling and creative imagination go hand in hand. Students will have the opportunity to craft the most imaginative objects from waste, which will be showcased during a fun-filled Children’s Day picnic.
Turning waste into art!
A week before the picnic, students will be invited to participate in the contest, either individually or in teams, by creating projects using recycled materials. This initiative aims to show that waste can be a valuable resource for creative play and that the circular economy encourages out-of-the-box thinking.
A panel of judges will evaluate all submitted projects, with the most outstanding creations receiving special prizes prepared in collaboration with the Parents’ Council and the eco-advisor.
Contest finale – A picnic full of attractions
The winners will be announced during a schoolyard picnic, where students can take part in educational games, fun activities, and enjoy refreshments. The event will emphasise the role of recycling in reducing waste and improving air quality while encouraging children to embrace eco-friendly creativity.
Opening of the Green Lab
The contest finale and picnic will also mark the official opening of a new learning space – the Green Lab ‘In the Land of Colour and Scent’. This special area will allow students to learn through direct contact with nature, inspiring a sense of environmental responsibility and promoting sustainable resource management.
Why participate?
- Encourages creativity – students discover new ways to use recycled materials
- Promotes zero waste – turning discarded items into something meaningful
- Highlights the importance of recycling – teaches sustainability through play
- Creates a greener school environment – introducing nature-based learning spaces
‘TrashArt – Creativity without limits!’ is more than just a contest - it’s a hands-on learning experience, fostering creativity and instilling eco-conscious habits from an early age.
This event is organised as part of the LIFE project ‘Silesia. Blue Sky Restored.’
