Description
A water resilient and toxic-free environment necessitates an ambitious implementation of the EU chemicals strategy and related EU water and chemicals policies. During our event, “An ambitious EU chemicals strategy – a requisite for urban water resilience” we will discuss which key actions that we see as necessary for tackling PFAS, microplastics and pharmaceuticals (cocktail effect) pollution in our water bodies.
Together with representatives from industry, local authorities, UWWTPs and European policy makers, we discuss their unique roles along the water cycle and how to make this happen. Our event will use an interactive approach, where different water stakeholders will give short presentations from their perspective.
Following this, we will moderate a roundtable discussion around the central topics of:
- Upstream measures
- Polluter Pays
- Ban of PFAS chemicals
These are central topics since they permeate all of EU chemicals and water policies.
