Description
EU-funded research project ACCTING produces knowledge and innovations to advance behavioural change at individual, group, and societal levels, for an inclusive and equal European Green Deal.
Based on insights developed in ACCTING research activities and experience from related projects and initiatives, this webinar will explore the vital role of local communities and indigenous knowledge in responding to natural disasters such as floods and preserving ecosystems.
The discussion will cover the following topics: the role of local communities in responding to natural disasters and developing resilience; on-the-ground perspectives, drawing on the example of the Florence Civil Protection flooding preparedness and response; policy recommendations to better value indigenous and local knowledge in disaster management and nature protection.
