Description
The EIL4~CITIES PILICA EDITION event, organized as part of partnership #EIL_PL by ERCE PAN and PHENO HORIZON, aims to accelerate the implementation of activities resulting from the developed urban adaptation plans in the Pilica catchment. Plans for water management in urban areas have been developed as part of the LIFE PILICA integrated project. An important element of these is the use of nature-based solutions (NBS), including small blue-green infrastructure.
The aim of the meeting is to present nature-based solutions in the context of supporting the adaptation of cities to climate change, as well as to indicate their multifunctionality, benefits and costs of their implementation.
The planned presentation of good practices is aimed at overcoming the scepticism of city authorities towards NBS. An important part of the meeting will be the opportunity to learn about financial mechanisms/tools. The participants of the event will be representatives of towns from the Pilica basin, as well as other interested parties.
Crucially, as a result of the event, the participants, with the support of experts in the field of water management, adaptation of cities to climate change, urban planning and development strategies, will develop roadmaps for future actions proposed as part of the Urban Climate Change Adaptation Plans. This will ensure that the work started under the LIFE PILICA project can be continued
