Organised under the workplan of the BioINSouth project, co-funded by the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU) and the EU, the forum aims to convene leaders and experts from various sectors and disciplines across Southern Europe and beyond. It will focus on the regional aspects of the bioeconomy and the development of research and innovation strategies and policies.
Key objectives include:
- Exploring the future of sustainable development
- - Highlighting regional bioeconomy initiatives across Southern Europe
- Emphasising the pivotal role of regions in shaping sustainable and eco-conscious practices
- Providing a platform for participants to showcase their experiences and results in bioeconomy-related endeavours
- Facilitating efficient networking and exchange of ideas among policymakers, researchers, and industrial actors
- The forum is designed for a diverse audience, including policymakers, researchers, industry professionals, and stakeholders interested in the sustainable development of the bioeconomy in Southern Europe.
The two-day event will feature
- Keynote speeches: isightful presentations from the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU), as well as national and regional players and policymakers in the field of bioeconomy
- Discussions and round tables: engaging sessions on regional initiatives shaping the circular bioeconomy, allowing for in-depth discussions and knowledge exchange. Speakers confirmed from the Circular Cities and Regions Initiative, BIOEAST Initiative, and the JRC, European Commission
- Networking sessions: opportunities for participants to connect, share experiences, and explore potential collaborations.
