Description

The workshop addresses the urgent issue of the blue crab invasion, which has negatively affected north east Italy Adriatic Sea with a steep decrease in production and farming of clams and mussels, resulting in up to 90% loss in revenue at local level. The event will showcase BlueDiversity results on monitoring this invasive species and on how to generate effective economic opportunities by valorising ecosystem services.
BlueDiversity workshop wants to facilitate the dialogue among institutions, Universities, policymakers, bringing together the different publicly funded projects targeting the blue crab emergency, involving ecosystem service users as main stakeholders.
