Description
One book, many stories. "Bookcirculation. Pass it on!" is an initiative that gives books a second life, encouraging people to share literature rather than letting books gather dust on shelves. It also serves as a practical example of the circular economy, where instead of discarding, we pass items on, reducing waste and unnecessary production. Libraries will organise book exchange points, making it easy for participants to bring books they no longer need and take home new titles that interest them. This is a fantastic opportunity to discover new books and refresh your home library without needing to purchase new copies.
Why participate?
- Extend the life of books: reduce paper waste and unnecessary consumption.
- Save money: get new reading material without spending a penny.
- Support sustainability: help reduce paper production emissions and save natural resources.
- Encourage sharing: promote a culture of responsible consumption.
By participating in Book circulation, attendees actively contribute to reducing the demand for new paper production, which is linked to deforestation, energy use, and carbon emissions. Keeping books in circulation means fewer waste materials and less strain on natural resources.
This event is open to everyone; whether you're a book lover, an occasional reader, or someone who simply wants to give their books a second chance. Bring a book, take a book, and pass it on!
This event is organised as part of the LIFE project 'Silesia. Blue Sky Restored.'
