Description

'Bookloop: book exchange fair' is an event that demonstrates how reading and ecology can go hand in hand. Organised by the School Anti-Smog Team together with students, the event features a book exchange fair, giving literature a second life while encouraging the responsible use of resources.
During the event, students can bring books they no longer read and exchange them for new titles, eliminating the need to buy new copies. This initiative not only saves money but also practically applies circular economy principles, teaching responsible consumption and waste reduction.
To make the event even more engaging, older students will read ecological-themed books to younger peers, fostering a culture of shared literary experiences. Additionally, the programme includes quizzes and competitions to test participants' knowledge of books and environmental issues.
'Bookloop: book exchange fair' emphasises that culture and education can also align with circular models, instead of discarding, we can share and reuse resources. The event also provides a platform to discuss the environmental impact of paper production and its effect on air quality, while exploring more sustainable reading habits.
This event is organised as part of the LIFE project 'Silesia. Blue Sky Restored.'
