This event will focus on urban waste management in Spain and strategies to integrate the circular economy into the sector. Aimed at citizens, companies, public administration, and Valoriza employees, it will take place in Madrid and be available on YouTube for free.
Agenda:
- Opening of the event (15 min)
Ana Benavent Peiró, proposals director of waste treatment plants at Valoriza, will present the circular economy, sustainable development goals, and European waste management regulations. - Consortium for urban waste treatment in Maresme (15 min)
Jordi Pons, director of the Maresme waste plant, will discuss the implementation of circular economy practices at the Mataró waste plant, including energy efficiency and sustainable innovation. - Cents4pack project (15 min)
David Redondo and Patricia Yebra, from the city of Guadalajara, will present the European Cents4pack project, the largest pay-per-return initiative in Europe. - The Dana catastrophe in Valencia (15 min)
Eugenio Cámara will discuss the challenges faced during the Dana event in Valencia and the role of waste management in emergency situations. - Discussion and reflection (15-20 min)
A roundtable discussion will follow, focusing on the challenges and opportunities of circular economy practices in waste management, with public participation encouraged.
