Description
Regions are at the core of the circular economy transition in Europe.
Why? Because regions offer the right scale to both deliver impact and stay in touch with the individual actors who drive the circular economy. But it is only through close cooperation with each other that we can tackle common challenges, share pivotal knowledge, and create interregional value chains. Only together do we go full circle.
The European summit from 10 to 12 June 2025 will celebrate the power of regions in the circular economy. Various European networks, regions, and representatives of European institutions will come together to strengthen international cooperation. It is no coincidence that the General Assembly of ACR+, the European network organisation for circular cities and regions, will be held during the summit.
Why in Fryslân?
Because the region has been working together for ten years on creating a clean, happy, and healthy environment. With results to show for it, Fryslân is one of Europe’s circular frontrunners! In 2025, we will celebrate our circular successes. We proudly showcase what has already been made circular in Fryslân and invite all circular difference-makers across Europe to join us.
In collaboration with ACR+, the Circular Summit in 2025 offers a unique opportunity to meet and network. Focused on themes like biobased construction, circular plastics, and water technology, the summit will include inspiring talks, hands-on workshops, and a field tour to showcase circular practices in Fryslân.
