Designing with nature

  • Koulutus ja työpajat

A nature-inspired circular design game will be hosted. This draws from natural systems to rethink products, processes and business models for a circular economy.

The session aims to identify climate challenges such as waste, resource depletion and greenwashing; co-create playful and scalable alternatives; demonstrate how biomimicry and circular principles can inspire innovation; inspire action, conversations and debate on climate-positive solutions; and foster cross-sector collaboration to develop problem-solving skills and creative thinking.

The session is designed for sustainability professionals, innovators, designers, policymakers, consumers, students, activists and engineers.

The format is a 60-minute virtual workshop. It begins with an introduction setting expectations, tone and objectives for the session, followed by an icebreaker where participants share a nature-inspired 'hack' they value. The core activity is a fast-paced design game where teams identify and vote on a climate problem, discuss nature-inspired solutions and pitch prototypes. The session concludes with reflections, a group showcase and feedback.

The workshop is guided by the ReDo Team, including Luca Christmann (Designer), Sebastian Lawrenz (Systems Manager and Software Engineer) and Isobel Gould (Sustainability Lead).

Participants will take away innovative nature-inspired ideas, positive energy for climate action and new network connections.
