Eco adventure in the Dąbrowa Estate: A creative nature zone for the whole family

  • Conferences and summits

Can investing in nature begin with creativity, shared fun and discovering the natural world together? In the Dąbrowa Estate in Krzepice, residents will find that the answer is yes. This outdoor community event, which has attracted families for years, will gain a special ecological dimension aligned with the idea of building a nature-friendly economy through knowledge, everyday choices and community engagement.

One of the central elements of the event will be the eco-zone of the LIFE project 'Silesia. Restoring the blue sky,' which will appear for the fourth time as a space full of inspiring environmental activities. This year the main attraction of the zone will be the workshop 'A painting adventure with wood.' Participants, especially children, will be able to paint and decorate wooden objects, working with natural materials and discovering how creativity can go hand in hand with care for the environment.

Wood, as a renewable natural material, is a direct product of forest ecosystems that play a vital role in regulating our climate, improving air quality, storing carbon and supporting biodiversity. By working with wood and eco-friendly materials, participants are invited to reflect on the forests behind the material in their hands, and on why protecting, restoring and sustainably managing these ecosystems is one of the most valuable investments we can make in nature. Contact with wood and natural materials opens a conversation about respect for nature, responsible use of resources and the principles of sustainable development.

Another important part of the event will be the post-competition exhibition of ecological jewellery created by the winners of the contest 'Instead of burning – design it! Create eco-jewellery from recycling.' The works on display demonstrate how creativity can transform the way we think about waste. Objects that might otherwise be thrown away can become inspiration for creating new, aesthetic and meaningful items. The exhibition highlights the importance of recycling and upcycling while showing that responsible consumer choices reduce pressure on natural resources, including the forests and ecosystems that suffer most when raw material consumption goes unchecked.

The ecological zone will also serve as a meeting and consultation space. Adult residents will have the opportunity to speak directly with the municipal eco-manager, who will provide information about available financial support programmes, heating system replacement, building thermal modernisation and the installation of renewable energy sources.

Together, these activities will create a welcoming environment for families where play, education and creativity demonstrate that investing in nature begins within local communities and through everyday decisions made by residents. Initiatives like this help make environmental responsibility a natural part of daily life and collective care for the future of the forests, ecosystems and natural spaces that sustain us all.
