Description
During the city eco-picnic, children and young people will have the opportunity to participate in a unique educational zone - 'Eco-blankets workshop'. This interactive space will introduce participants to the circular economy, resource reuse, and responsible consumption through engaging and practical activities. Each workshop blanket offers a different way to explore ecology in action. Participants will learn by doing, creating everyday items from materials that would otherwise end up as waste.
The programme includes:
- 'Eco-quizzes and eco-charades' – Team challenges that test participants' knowledge of recycling, the circular economy, and air quality protection.
- 'A second life for the blue sky' – A hands-on workshop where old T-shirts are transformed into reusable shopping bags, promoting the right to repair and reducing textile waste.
- 'Here’s what I say – Talking t-shirts' – A creative activity where participants personalise cotton T-shirts with eco-friendly slogans to inspire environmental awareness.
- 'Bojszów jars' – A glass painting workshop showcasing creative upcycling and giving new life to everyday objects.
- 'Ecology in the kitchen' – A food waste reduction workshop where children decorate carrot muffins or prepare fruit-based snacks, learning the principles of zero food waste.
'Eco-blankets workshop' is where learning meets fun, allowing children to experience the circular economy firsthand. The event demonstrates how to reduce waste, reuse resources, and manage materials responsibly - all in an engaging and creative workshop atmosphere.
This event is organised as part of the 'LIFE project Silesia. Blue Sky Restore.'
