Description
The end of the school year is the perfect time to declutter and give unused items a second life! The ecobazaar in Miedźno promotes circular economy principles by encouraging waste reduction and mindful consumption through item exchanges instead of disposal.
What can you swap?
Residents are invited to bring and exchange:
- Clothing
- Books
- Plant seedlings and flowers
- Toys
- Other small reusable items that can serve a new purpose.
How does it work?
Starting June 2, residents can drop off their items at a designated location in the municipality. On the event day, participants can browse through the available items and take what they need, giving objects a second chance instead of letting them go to waste.
Eco-workshops for kids
In collaboration with the Municipal Cultural Centre in Miedźno, the event features interactive environmental workshops designed to engage children in creative, hands-on activities while teaching them about sustainability and upcycling.
School involvement & educational visits
Given the proximity of the school and kindergarten complex in Miedźno, students and teachers are encouraged to visit the ecobazaar as a group. This is a great educational opportunity to introduce young people to circular economy practices and the importance of reducing overconsumption.
Give items a second life!
The ecobazaar is a simple way to:
- Save money by reusing items instead of buying new ones
- Promote sustainability and an eco-friendly mindset
- Reduce waste and minimise the environmental impact of excess production
By choosing reuse over disposal, residents actively contribute to less waste, fewer emissions, and better air quality by reducing overproduction and unnecessary consumption.
'Ecobazaar: swap, don’t waste!' is more than an event—it’s a community-driven action toward a circular, resource-conscious lifestyle that benefits both people and the planet. This event is organised as part of the 'LIFE project Silesia. Blue Sky Restored.'
