Description
The Municipality of Zawiercie invites residents to ‘EcoJoy: a picnic full of nature’, a unique event promoting ecology, the circular economy, and air quality awareness. Together with the Waste Management Department and the Zawiercie Development Agency, a range of engaging activities has been prepared to demonstrate how to put sustainable development principles into practice in daily life.
One of the highlights of the event is the eco-fashion show for preschoolers, proving that reusing materials can be both practical and creative. Outfits made from recycled materials will highlight the importance of circularity in fashion, while inspiring efforts to reduce textile waste.
Visitors can also take part in ecological workshops and competitions, introducing themes such as recycling, plastic reduction, and sustainable consumption in an interactive and accessible way. Both children and adults will have the opportunity to test their environmental knowledge and discover how small changes in lifestyle can result in meaningful environmental benefits.
A waste-for-seedling exchange will be held to encourage attendees to actively reduce waste while helping to green their surroundings. This initiative reflects the principles of resource efficiency and reducing landfill waste.
A consultation point will also be available, where residents can learn about government support programmes for green investments, such as replacing heat sources, improving energy efficiency, and insulating buildings. Experts will provide guidance on how air quality affects health and how responsible resource management can help improve it.
‘EcoJoy: a picnic full of nature’ combines ecological education, entertainment, and inspiration for environmental action. Through interactive workshops, exhibitions, and eco-friendly initiatives, participants will gain a deeper understanding of circular economy principles and their connection to air quality and everyday life.
This event is organised as part of the LIFE project ‘Silesia. Blue Sky Restored.’
