Description
Youth for the Rhine invites all student, young professionals, and those young at heart to join us in an informative and interactive webinar. To start off, we will learn about the “Rhine 2040” programme launched by The International Commission for the Protection of the Rhine in 2020 with an objective to create a sustainably managed Rhine catchment area that is resilient to the effects of climate change, with valuable lifelines created for nature and people.
The Rhine 2040 programme focus areas are water quality, ecology, and high and low water, and have definite goals and measures for these areas. Beyond learning about the 2040 programme, our goal is to identify which areas of Rhine management and governance young people are most passionate about and develop concrete ideas for how youth from across the basin can engage, contribute, and make change.
Youth for the Rhine hopes to support the 2040 Rhine by being the bridge between the International Commission for the Protection of the Rhine and young people. We believe that youth have expertise that can and should be a part of improving management and governance of the Rhine.
